Morinville RCMP seek public's assistance in Sturgeon County hit-and-run death

RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run collision in Sturgeon County in February. 

The collision took place on Highway 28, one kilometre north of Anthony Henday, in the early morning hours of Feb. 26.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Angel Cardinal, of Edmonton, according to a Morinville RCMP statement released on March 7.

RCMP are asking to speak to an unknown male who reported the incident at 5:22 a.m. on Feb. 26 using a phone-calling app, and an unknown female driving a dark-coloured vehicle who stopped north of the collision scene.

RCMP would like to speak to anyone who was travelling on Highway 28 near the Anthony Henday between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on the day of the incident. 

Morinville RCMP are also looking to speak to those who knew or saw Angel and could provide information on why she had been in the area she was found.
