A Morinville man is facing second-degree murder charges following a street fight that left one man dead.
Elias Simon, 21, has been charged with the murder of Morgan Drew Arcand-Faithful and is being held without bail, at least until a court appearance next Thursday.
Arcand-Faithful's death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy Thursday morning, but a cause of death was not released.
The RCMP responded to a report of a fight shortly after 11 p.m. in the area of 103 Street and the 9900 block. According to a police news release, “a male was found on scene with a visible wound.”
Arcand-Faithful was pronounced dead at the scene despite treatment by ambulance personnel.
The RCMP are still investigating the case and are asking anyone who saw either Arcand-Faithful or Simon on the night of April 4 to contact them at 780-939-4550.
