MH Vicars has proven track record

Not all massage therapy schools are created equal – so not all massage careers are, either.

A good RMT has healing hands and technical knowledge – a balance that depends on the right education. That’s why people are increasingly picky when they look for RMTs.

This gives graduates of MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy a distinct advantage. Vicars School’s strong reputation means its therapists are in high demand.

“Vicars is the school that I recommend the most,” says Kip Petch, RMT. Petch practices at the Active Life Centre in St. Albert, and works with professional and Olympic athletes.

“The last five or six therapists that I’ve hired have all been from Vicars. They’re very well prepared. I endorse it whole heartedly.”

Vicars is the only private massage college in Alberta to meet the Canadian curriculum standard, and the first college named to the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta’s Approved School/Program list.

“From a practitioner’s standpoint, being trained to the same minimum standard as everyone else in the country is huge,” says Christy Pritchard, MTAA Executive Director. “But there are schools that, unfortunately, aren’t going to do it until they have to. And that’s why it’s such an advantage what MH Vicars has done. They didn’t have to, but they did. It shows the commitment they have to the profession at large – and it was not a small undertaking.”

MH Vicars attracts students from all over Western Canada to its Edmonton and Calgary locations. The independent study model – students are in class for four days a month, and do the rest of the work on their own schedule at home – means they don’t need to relocate or give up their day jobs.

Classes begin in September and January, and there is an Advanced Placement option for those who want to upgrade their previous massage training.
