The bald face of justice got a new member on Monday when St. Albert RCMP Const. Janice Schoepp had her head shaved for charity.
Just prior she was sporting a pink and green Mohawk, leading many to debate which hairstyle would draw more attention to her cause.
This was her first time going 'Kojak' to support research with Edmonton-based charity Kids with Cancer, but she wasn't alone.
"I was approached by a friend of mine who is also in the RCMP. Her daughter is a cancer survivor," she began. "I'm doing it to support her and her family. I thought it would be neat … and it's only hair!"
So far she has raised about $1,400 and she's pleased with the public's response and sense of humour.
"People have been really generous, here at the detachment too. I told them that they make fun of me anyhow so now I'm giving them an opportunity. It's been fun actually."
According to its website, Kids with Cancer works to meet the needs of the whole child and their families from the time of diagnosis throughout treatment, survivorship and beyond by developing programs that address the children's support, clinical and research needs.

Art auction items on display at AGSA
The 22nd annual art auction and fundraiser for the Art Gallery of St. Albert is still a week and a half away but people planning to attend that event can already check out what will be up for grabs.
"Everything is on view until the end of the week," explained director of arts Frances Gagnon. "We also have a touch screen with everything on it."
She added that the only items excluded from the sneak preview were the pots made by local dignitaries and celebrity guests.
Items are located in the gallery's main floor vault and in the upstairs display area.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 5 at the Enjoy Centre, 101 Riel Dr.
Tickets are still available for $50 at the door. You can also buy them from the gallery at 19 Perron St. or Arts and Heritage's main office at 22 Perron St.
