Sturgeon County will see one new face on council after David Kluthe was elected as councillor for Division 4

The county has not made vote totals for any of the three races publicly available but has declared Kluthe, the son of former Sturgeon reeve/mayor Lawrence Kluthe the winner via Twitter.

Division 3 Coun. Ken McGillis has been re-elected, as has Division 5 Coun. Joe Milligan.

Kluthe faced off in Division 4 with former RCMP officer Al Homeniuk after long-time councillor Jerry Kaup chose not to run for re-election last month.

McGillis, now a three-term councillor, was challenged by Catlin Letendre.

In Division 5, Milligan kept his seat despite a strong challenge from former Sturgeon County director of infrastructure services Wayne Bullock. This is Milligan’s second term on council.

All of the other Sturgeon incumbents won their divisions by acclamation, as did Mayor Don Rigney, who will serve a second term.
