Police are hoping someone from the public can help after a man grabbed several gold necklaces and ran from a local jewelry store on Thursday.
The unidentified man went into the St. Albert Goldsmiths jewelry store in St. Albert Centre around 12:20 and grabbed between six and eight yellow gold necklaces and ran from the store.
Const. Danielle Joevenazzo said no one was hurt in the incident, with the suspect simply grabbing the chains and running.
He ran out of the store through the mall and into the Bay store before going out that store’s receiving entrance.
The man is approximately six feet tall and has short spiky blonde hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt and a grey or blue jacket.
After going out of the receiving entrance, he got into a taupe older model four-door car that had a loud muffler.
Police don’t believe there was anyone else in the vehicle, Joevenazzo said. Officers arrived on scene shortly after the theft, but were not able to locate the man.
Anyone who may have witnessed the theft or the man running through the mall is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or the St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700.
