Dr. Lily Climenhaga, formerly of St. Albert and now a post-doctoral fellow, is the co-curator of a film fest taking place at Metro Cinema on March 24 and 25.

Tagged Can Art (Re-) Act?, the event focuses on Milo Rau, a Swiss German theatre and film director. Rau has developed a “unique and identifiable band of documentary-inspired political theatre” wrote Climenhaga. His form of theatre has earned him a reputation as one of Europe’s most influential and controversial political artists.

The event opens Friday, March 24 with the North American premiere of Milo Rau – In Search of William Tell and followed by The Congo Tribunal on Saturday. This award-winning dual continent film depicts a six-day tribunal Rau and his team staged in 2015 in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Berlin.

Tickets range from $11 to $14 at Metro box office, 8712 – 109 St
