The St. Albert Crime Stoppers Association is asking for your assistance in solving the following crimes:
At 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, St. Albert RCMP were called to the Wild Rose Elementary School, located on Grenfell Avenue, as the roof of one portable classroom had been damaged. A roof-mounted air conditioner unit had been moved from its mounting site and a roof vent and insulation were damaged.
The principal of Wild Rose School let the school liaison officer know that they have been having a problem with vandalism throughout the spring, particularly with damages and youth on the roof of the school. On March 21, the shed behind Wild Rose School was broken into, and on April 13, RCMP received a report that there were kids on the roof of the school.
On Thursday, Aug. 4, at approximately 3:30 a.m., St. Albert RCMP received an alarm call from Fountain Park Pool located on Cunningham Road. Person(s) unknown had thrown a two-by-four piece of wood through a change room window of the pool building. RCMP attendance at the scene did not find any suspects in the area.
Overnight between the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 3, and 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4, someone broke a window at Lorne Akins Junior High School located on Fairview Boulevard. The window, located on the south side of the school, leads to the teachers’ lounge room and appears to have been broken by someone throwing a brick through it. Vandalism to St. Albert schools has been costly this summer and St. Albert RCMP is looking for your help on this crime.
On Tuesday, Aug. 2, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a St. Albert resident parked her 2010 blue Mazda A3I car in the northwest area of the Safeway parking lot located on Hebert Road. When the woman returned to her car about 15 minutes later, she found that someone had collided with her car and damaged the front driver's side bumper and quarter panel. Black plastic, believed to be from another bumper, was left on her damaged vehicle.
