The St. Albert Crime Stoppers Association is asking for your assistance in solving the following crimes:

Between the hours of 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, unknown subjects entered the locked compound at 8802 90 Ave. in Morinville and stole a 2000 Melroe 773(G) skid steer front-end loader. The loader is owned by Alpha Construction and has the company logo affixed to it.

Entry to the compound was gained by breaking through the fence. The skid steer was then loaded onto a trailer and driven off the site.

At this time, Morinville RCMP do not have any suspects in this investigation. Information relating to this theft can be forwarded to the Morinville RCMP Detachment at 780-939-4550 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Early Tuesday morning, Aug. 2, at approximately 4:20 a.m., someone smashed the glass windows on the doors of two adjacent downtown businesses located on St. Thomas Street. Solo Jeanz and Island Tanning both received approximately $500 in damages to their front door glass and the cash register was stolen from Solo Jeanz. A witness saw a lone male running away from the scene of the crime in a northerly direction on Perron Street. The suspect was not located by police patrols.

He is described as wearing dark clothing, about five-foot-10, and having a slim build.

On Saturday, July 23, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., a red 2009 Dodge Dakota was parked facing west in the lot of the St. Albert Bowling Centre and was hit on the right side of the back bumper by an unknown vehicle, resulting in more than $3,000 in damage. The suspect vehicle did not notify the owner of the Dakota of the collision. The RCMP is asking if anyone has any information about this collision.

A second hit-and-run collision was reported about a week later. Overnight between 11 p.m. on Friday, July 29, and 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, someone hit a parked 2005 Dodge Caravan van and left the scene without reporting the collision to the vehicle owner or the police. The medium green-coloured van was parked in front of a residence on Springfield Crescent when it was hit on the driver’s side. The van sustained damage to the driver’s side front door, the rear sliding door and the side mirror. The doors were dented and white paint from the suspect vehicle was left along the van’s driver’s side and door handles. The white paint smears left behind were quite high up on the side of the van, which may indicate that the white suspect vehicle could be a van, truck, SUV or larger type of vehicle. It is not believed that these two collisions are related.
