The St. Albert Crime Stoppers Association is asking for your assistance in solving the following crimes:
On June 24, between 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. an unknown person(s) vandalized a stone park bench located outside Servus Place. No other information was obtained.
Sometime between June 18 and June 19, on Gervais Road, an unknown person(s) scattered 10 pounds of roofing nails on the green space area where the City of St. Albert's photo radar van sits. This incident brought up safety concerns for city workers who maintain the grass area along with the community who walk and bike on the green space.
Sometime between 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 5 at closing time, and 5 a.m. on Monday June 6, someone cut the lock off the fenced-in compound at the rear of the Canadian Tire store located on Bellerose Drive. Once inside the compound, the suspect(s) cut the locks off three trailers that were being used as storage for seasonal inventory such as barbecues, lawnmowers and patio furniture and an unknown quantity of merchandise was stolen.
On the same morning, June 6, at approximately 4 a.m., an employee of the St. Albert Canadian Tire store noticed an empty white cube van left running in the parking lot in front of the store. Investigation by St. Albert RCMP determined that this van had been stolen sometime over the weekend from the Riel Business Park. A quantity of building supplies was missing from the back of the stolen cube van.
On Monday, June 6, at approximately 4:45 a.m., a white passenger car was seen driving northbound at a high rate of speed on St. Anne Street in front of St. Albert Place. The St. Albert's International Children's Festival barricades and tents were still blocking St. Anne Street as the festival had recently concluded and the mid-sized car failed to stop before colliding with a wooden barricade located on the south side of the tent area. The car then hit a cement barrier and pushed it against a tent before hitting the corner of that large white tent on the street. The suspect car continued to drive at a high rate of speed past the remaining tents and exited St. Anne Street through the north barricaded area. There was substantial damage to the cement barrier, the ‘road closed’ sign and the tent. The car itself will have noticeable front-end damage.
Between Saturday, June 4, at 11:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 5, at 12:25 a.m., unknown person(s) stole a patio couch and two chairs with beige cushions from the victim's carport in Akindale Gardens. Each piece of patio furniture has a dark brown resin frame and the total value is $350.
