A man who didn’t know when to say when was fined $800 for an alcohol-fuelled episode.

Shane Douglas Fry pleaded guilty to a single count of uttering death threats and a single count of mischief. He must also pay restitution for the damage he caused.

The mayhem began late on Dec. 30, 2010 when Fry and a friend refused to leave a party that had wound down.

The pair both said they wouldn’t go and began yelling at the woman who had asked them to leave.

Fry then grabbed a laptop and hurled it across the room, cracking the computer’s screen.

When finally leaving the house, Fry told the woman who was asking them to leave that he would kill her or have someone else do it.

While handing down the sentence, Judge H.W.A. Fuller encouraged Fry to get a handle on his alcohol use to avoid any further trouble with the law.

“Life is somewhat distorted through the bottom of the liquor bottle.”

A young man was sentenced to two more days in jail following a conviction for breaching his probation.

Joseph Jeremy Gladue pleaded guilty toe the single count and was given the two days on top of 10 he had already served in jail.

Gladue was sentenced in March 2010, to a year of probation on a host of charges with a requirement that he regularly report to a probation officer.

Following his sentence he went into a residential treatment program and missed his first court-ordered probation meeting. His father contacted the probation office to let them know he was at the treatment centre and the probation officer was willing to wait until the program was completed.

After Gladue left the treatment program, he still failed to report to probation, leading to the charge.

Judge H.W.A Fuller applauded Gladue for looking to address some of his issues, but chided him for not listening to a court order.

Gladue said he deeply regretted his actions.

“If I could take it back I would.”
