Phone service, as well as Internet and email, is back up and running after a day-long outage Friday.
According to a release from the city, network access was restored to satellite buildings at approximately 6:15 p.m. Friday night.
A news release issued earlier Friday stated that the outage began at 11:42 a.m. Friday. All city facilities outside St. Albert Place were affected and couldn't make or receive phone calls or e-mail messages.
Emergency 911 service was not affected.
"It's just the facilities outside St. Albert Place. Fire and the RCMP are unaffected," said Marci Ng, a city communications advisor.
Buildings impacted by the outage included Fountain Park Recreation Centre, Servus Credit Union Place, public works, transit, the Business & Volunteer Centre, human resources and assessment services.
This was the second outage in November. A similar problem occurred Nov. 16 when all city buildings except for St. Albert Place lost phone, e-mail and Internet service. That outage was quickly resolved.
