Chamber gears up for another successful event

The St. Albert Chamber of Commerce has high hopes for this year’s St. Albert Lifestyle Expo and Sale at Servus Place this weekend.

The St. Albert Chamber of Commerce has high hopes for this year’s St. Albert Lifestyle Expo and Sale at Servus Place this weekend.

Roughly 300 businesses will showcase their wares at the event, which kicks off Friday afternoon, to roughly 10,000 attendees.

“It’s pretty exciting this year,” said Charlene Zoltenko, chair of the expo committee. “We’ve got all kinds of fun things going on.”

She said the businesses range from medical professionals and financial experts to home renovation specialists and retail shops.

“I think a lot of times, people in St. Albert don’t realize what’s here and what’s at their fingertips and that was the idea: to promote local business and let people in St. Albert know what’s here and what’s available,” she said.

Zoltenko added the event is open to people of all ages, and promised there is something to interest everyone.

“It’s aimed at families, seniors, kids, singles — there’s something for everyone,” she said.

The main focus for this year’s event was to enhance the Pure Horticulture Botanical Arts Experience event. This is the event’s second year, which focuses on home gardening, workshops and landscaping.

“I think people are going to be more aware of it because it was there last year,” Zoltenko said, adding the exhibit has taken a little while to catch on.

There are more speakers on tap this year, including an allergy and celiac-focused presentation on Friday with gardening experts taking the microphone on Saturday in conjunction with the horticulture exhibit.

The chamber also beefed up the entertainment stage, which will have local talents performing throughout the day, including Ukrainian and Highland dancers.

For attendees hoping to mingle with MLA hopefuls, Zoltenko said St. Albert candidates will also be present.

Tickets for the April 20 to 22 event can be purchased at the door. Daily passes are $3 and a weekend pass is $5.
