Page the Cleaner opens third location in St. Albert
Practically over night, the former Village Landing Hangers Drycleaner location at 140 St. Albert Trail transformed into a new Page the Cleaner outlet.
Company president Holly Jones said the store is now the 22nd location owned by the Rudolphs, a local business family, and their third location in St. Albert. The two other stores are located at Liberton and Inglewood drives.
“We found out about the opportunity on Monday, did the deal on Tuesday and opened up on Wednesday,” Jones said, adding that the store was repainted to match existing Page the Cleaner locations on Tuesday night and received a new sign on Wednesday evening.
Page the Cleaner has been in business since 1935. The company steadily grew from its original one shop personal cleaner to over 200 locations. It provides fine dry-cleaning, commercial laundry and industrial garment cleaning services.
Jones said they are now adding a free, limitless pick-up and delivery service to their St. Albert locations.
“It can be a one-time pickup where they call in and our dispatcher will have someone come out or it can be set up as a regular pick up and drop off,” she said. “It just eliminates the need to take that extra trip to the store.”
Free pick-up can be ordered at 780-444-7243 ext. 2 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
30-minute kickboxing franchise open this week
Designed for busy, modern women, a new fitness studio in St. Albert now offers a 30-minute boxing and kickboxing workout at 15 Circle Drive.
30 Minute Hit opened its new location in Campbell Business Park on Thursday morning. Owner Dana Mace said she decided to bring the franchised business to St. Albert after working out with the company in 2012.
“I did the workout and I really liked it. It was half an hour and I have three young children so I just needed something real quick and it seemed like a good fit,” she said.
The studio offers a 30-minute workout circuit that consists of techniques taken from boxing, kickboxing, general self-defence and core stability training. Each of the 13 stations lasts for a two-minute interval, with 15-second breaks. Participants work out on their own but Mace said a trainer is always available to encourage and correct any wrong techniques.
The studio also allows mothers to bring their children with them and monitor them in a free play area.
“I think the fact that we can also bring our kids, that is one thing that convinced me. And then it was just a quick workout that’s effective,” said Mace. “I’ve done one-hour workouts before where I’ve gotten a really good workout but with a personal trainer and not all of us have that kind of money.”
Monthly memberships cost $59, or $49 if you sign up for a year. Customers can also prepay for a year for $490 plus tax. A $99 membership fee applies for every new customer to pay for equipment.
30 Minute Hit is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., as well as on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. New customers are encouraged to book a free, 45-minute trial on the company website at www.30minutehit.com.
