Longtime St. Albert residents will remember fondly the time of open houses and guided tours of Hole’s Greenhouse. Now, the Hole boys want to open the Enjoy Centre to the community this Christmas.
Holiday with the Holes will be held this weekend at the Enjoy Centre, said Jim Hole and will feature free family portraits, live holiday music, food, drinks, greenhouse tours and even gardening workshops.
A press release from The Enjoy Centre stated the holidays are a time to reconnect with family and for St. Albert heritage business Hole’s Greenhouse, “family” means the people of St. Albert and region. “We’re celebrating the end of a long year, and looking forward to the start of something new. We want to spend time with our St. Albert family,” stated Jim, co-owner of Hole’s at the Enjoy Centre, in the press release.
On December 14 Hole’s will be opening its doors for a free afternoon of holiday fun and entertainment. Jim said Hole’s Greenhouse was known for this in the past.
“I think it’s really, first and foremost, inviting people from the St. Albert community and region into the Enjoy Centre,” he said in an interview with the Gazette Monday. “We look at the region as a real family. It’ll be a warm, open house atmosphere.”
He noted the tours will be a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most popular plants of the holiday season, the poinsettias. Jim said Hole’s Greenhouse used to offer a lot of tours. It was suggested that Hole’s get back into the tour business. “We thought that was a great, smart idea,” he said.
Also on tap Saturday will be live entertainment and free family Christmas portraits in conjunction with the Gazette as partner. Plus, a free kids’ gardening workshop will be offered with plenty of chances for the kids to try out their green thumbs.
Holiday with the Holes will run this Saturday, Dec. 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Hole’s Greenhouse located in the Enjoy Centre located at 101 Riel Dr.
