Marley came to the Northern Alberta Society for Animal Protection (NASAP) in May and on May 24 had surgery after he ate something he shouldn't have. He is doing fine now and was recently moved to an acreage foster home where he has more space to run and another dog to play with.
Marley is a typical, active puppy with all the traits of a busy shepherd boy. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is definitely a high-energy dog with a high-pitched excitable bark. He would enjoy an active family and/or another high-energy dog as a companion.
He's doing pretty well on the leash after a short time. He knows how to sit and stay and he seems to like learning new commands (Milk Bones help). Marley doesn't like being put in a crate but has slept quietly either beside his foster family's bed or with the other foster dog in a puppy pen.
Marley may not be the best with cats – if they run he will chase them but if they don't he basically ignores them. Although Marley hasn't had much in the way of training, he seems like a pretty smart dog and should train well. He likes nothing better than just hanging out in the backyard.
Marley was introduced to some young children and he did very well with them, so he could be great in a home with dog-savvy kids. He has had his surgical staples removed and got the all clear from the vet to be adopted.

Smokey is a beautiful grey and white long haired cat that came to NASAP from Black Gold Pound. Smokey is outgoing and brave and loves to explore his surroundings. He is a happy, easygoing and affectionate cat.
He was terribly matted when he came into care and has had a complete lion shave. He was neutered by a previous owner. He has undergone treatment for a urinary tract infection that was noticed while he was impounded. He has now received a clean bill of health, but he should remain on a urinary tract health diet on the long term. This diet is available at all vet clinics.
