Adopt A Pet

I am one of 10 puppies born in the care of the Northern Alberta Society for Animal Protection (NASAP.) Our mom is a Labrador retriever-German shepherd cross and she was found abandoned and heavily pregnant. Two of my siblings have already been adopted but the rest of us are still waiting for our forever homes.

We are now nine weeks old and have had our first shots, been wormed and microchipped. I am the smallest of the bunch and will grow to be a medium-sized dog. Some of my brothers and sisters will be bigger and chunkier than me when all grown up. We are all happy puppies, well socialized and very outgoing. I am looking for a new home with people who will give me all the training and direction that I will need to become a well-mannered adult.

My foster mom says I am quite a spunky puppy and that I will need to know who’s boss. I can’t think what she means. I am very agile and can spring up on things just like a mountain goat.

If you are looking for a new puppy to join your family take a look on the NASAP website www.nasap.ca, where you will be able to see pictures of all of us and of our mom. Or you can call the Northern Alberta Society for Animal Protection (NASAP) at 780-922-0250 and leave a voicemail. The adoption fee for a puppy is $300 and that covers the cost of our future spays/neuters.

Oscar is a wonderful, mature (approx. eight years old) neutered male cat that came to NASAP from the Beaumont pound. He is a beautiful cream flame point-Siamese cross. Even though he was wearing a collar and tag with his name it has not been possible to track down his previous owner.

That’s OK because Oscar was in need of a new start anyway. When he came to us, he was terribly matted and his teeth were in need of a cleaning. Oscar had his coat brushed out and washed and he has received a full dental cleaning. He is looking and feeling handsome and healthy again. Oscar is a lovely guy and he will be a great companion for whoever adopts him.

He is affectionate but never annoying. He likes to put his paws on your shoulders and stretch up to give you a hug. He is well behaved and always uses his litterbox. He loves his wet food and kibble and he is talkative and very smart.

Oscar’s NASAP adoption fee includes his neuter, dental cleaning, vaccinations, deworming, FIV/feline leukemia testing, microchip and a post adoption health checkup.
