More than 180 athletes will be competing in the St. Albert triathlon this upcoming weekend.
The event is being hosted by the St. Albert Road Runners and Triathlon Club (STARRT), which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024.
The St. Albert Triathlon is hosting three different events this weekend. There will be a sprint triathlon, which is a 750-metre swim, a 20-kilometre bike, and a 5-kilometre run. They also have a team relay, which will allow teams of three to compete together, with each athlete competing in one of the three events listed earlier. Last, they will have an event for newcomers called the "try-a-tri", that will allow for people to learn and compete in a triathlon.
The St. Albert Triathlon will take place Aug 11. The Triathlon will be based at Grosvenor Pool, with the biking, and running course in the Grandin neighbourhood.
