Mexican-styled food in a relaxed family setting. That’s what Barburrito is selling, especially for individuals and families looking for a bargain.

Located on St. Albert Trail next to Landmark Cinemas and The Brewhouse, it is a casual 24-seater that offers take-out.

Burritos, quesadillas, tacos, salsas, sides and churros – it’s all on the menu for a quick and ready meal.

Franchise owner Inder Vadana, formerly assistant front office manager at Mettera Hotel on Whyte, first sampled the product on a visit to Ontario.

“I loved the food. I loved that you can customize your meal. At Taco Bell, you order a taco and get what they put in it. Here you choose what you want,” said Vadana.

In particular, he enjoys munching on churros.

“I love them. I like the way they look and I like the way they taste. They’re crunchy on the outside and coated in cinnamon sugar.”

Barburrito enjoyed a soft opening on Saturday, March 9.

“At the moment our foot traffic is light. But considering we just opened a week ago, we’re doing fine.”
