After spending years on the road building its brand, Sweet Tequila takes a break for a two-nighter at LB’s Pub this coming Friday and Saturday night.

“I don’t think we’ve ever played at LB’s,” said Randy J. Martin, driving force and lead male singer. “We did play at the Bourbon Room about a year ago,” he adds.

In the past decade, the band’s five road warriors have built a reputation across western Canada as full-throttle country-rock party band.

However, with a dramatic drop in clubs bringing in live music, Sweet Tequila is rebuilding its presence in the area.

This is born up with statistics from his booking company, Karizma Agency. Martin, who founded Karizma, was booking in 33 clubs in 2009. By 2017, the accounts dropped to three.

“I really have to give a pat on the back to Linda (LB’s owner) for sticking with live entertainment.”

Sweet Tequila, composed of Martin (vocals-harmonica), Roger Arsenault (bass), Don Levasseur (drums) and the new female lead singer Alyssa Harper, plan to party with a playlist of commercial hits.

“We’ll have some of our own hits, but we’re not caught up in ourselves. We like to see all our friends and the local crowd having fun.”

They will play three sets starting at 9 p.m. LB’s is at 23 Akins Dr.
