St. Albert country singer-songwriter Hailey Benedict has inked a record and global publishing deal. Big Loud Records and its Canada-based, Dallas Smith-founded Local Hay Records, have signed Benedict to the record and publishing deal.
On her Instagram page, Benedict wrote, “Pursuing a career in music can be one of the most fulfilling yet sometimes the most challenging paths. I’ve heard countless 'no’s,' been through trial and tribulations, and sometimes even felt like giving it all up. But if there is anything I’ve learned so far, it’s that if you keep showing up for yourself because you love it, I genuinely believe that one day the right people will come along and say 'yes.'"
Benedict and her team spent the last two years fostering a relationship before the partnership was formalized.
“After a decade as an independent artist, it was crucial for me to partner with a label that aligns with my passion for music. I truly believe I’ve found the perfect home. My first single with Big Loud, Things My Mama Says, is available for pre-save now and will be out Oct. 4."
The track features advice and words of wisdom from a mother, and a daughter’s acknowledgement of its impact despite the younger woman’s hesitation in following it.
Big Loud is headquartered in Nashville and headed by Grammy-Award winning songwriter Craig Weisman. The recording company already fosters and guides the careers of country artists such as MacKenzie Porter, Ashley Cooke, Jake Worthington and Griffen Palmer.
