Since its inception Blush Magazine, an Alberta wedding and lifestyle glossy, has had the pleasure of viewing the province’s most enthralling wedding venues.

In its Fall/Winter issue, Blush Magazine named St. Albert’s Enjoy Centre as 2015 Venue of the Year, a title that reflects the site’s ability to accommodate many couple’s dream spaces and themes.

“It’s a great award for the Enjoy Centre and for St. Albert,” said marketing manager Laura Gadowsky. “Some people think St. Albert is a million miles away, but we’re only 20 minutes from downtown Edmonton. This award highlights the building. We’re out here and we’re a prime facility for weddings, corporate events, training sessions, team building events and celebrations of life.”

Built in part as a greenhouse, the Enjoy Centre is flooded with natural light and a carpet of plants. Designed within the structure is the gracious Moonflower Room for a dinner and dance, a bistro, liquor store, grocery store, bakery and flower shop.

For the all-important photography session, brides and grooms step directly into the greenhouse or stroll outside to Lois Hole provincial park.

“It’s a matter of having a lot of things together for an event. It’s a one-stop shop,” said Bryan Saunders of the Enjoy Centre marketing team.

Blush Magazine approached the Enjoy Centre to discuss the award presentation and the wedding venue supplied event photos to the magazine. For Saunders, the award is a huge accolade.

“It’s a testament to this beautiful building. We’ve been in the building for three and one-half years. To win something this quick is pretty remarkable.”

Blush Magazine editor Najla Elwenni is delighted this year’s choice is stirring up interest.

“Every year we review two or three properties that are unique across Alberta,” said Elwenni. “As editor of the wedding magazine, I see a lot of wedding photos. I noticed more and more photos of brides coming from the Enjoy Centre. They can do so much. It’s all glass. The feeling is all-natural. There’s a garden and flowers that are important in weddings.”

“The fact they can accommodate so many brides is impressive and we were so impressed they could do so much in one space – the flowers, the food, the photography. You have natural light and you don’t need to create a backdrop.”

The Enjoy Centre’s prize is a two-page feature in Blush Magazine’s current edition and a wall plaque. Previous winners have included two Edmonton sites – the Art Gallery of Alberta and the Matrix Hotel.

“Next year we will be looking at the Rocky Mountains,” Elwenni added.

Previously, the Enjoy Centre won a Meeting Professionals International Award in their second year of operation.
