The lst annual Saint City Fusion Music Festival kicks off Friday, Aug. 23 at Lions Park.

Hosted by BAM and the Blue Harvest Group, this all-ages festival introduces 10 different acts with special guests Celery and Sidewalks, Carrie Day, Southern Streets and more.

The festival runs from 4 to 9:30 p.m. There is a $5 dollar admission. For more information visit www.bamforyouth.ca.

Symphony Under the Sky, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra’s most popular annual presentation takes place from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2.

The festival’s charismatic Bob Bernhardt returns for an eighth season to lead the ESO in five outdoor concerts. Over the four days, audiences will hear classical masterpieces, Hollywood film favourites, the Motown sound and a highly anticipated tribute to the legendary Ray Charles.

The festival finale features Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, complete with a booming cannon.

Weekend passes are $149 for adults, $75 for children. Grass seating is $99 for adults and children are free. Single reserved seating is $40 for adults, $20 for children. Grass seating is $25 for adults, free for children.

The family matinee on Sunday Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. is free for everyone. Admission is first-come, first-served.
