It’s official. Rock’n August has been a major summer attraction in St. Albert for 17 years. And while the main show-and-shine event ends today, the big concert is still to come.
The high-energy Trooper and April Wine play a double bill at Servus Credit Union Place on Friday, Aug. 16.
Trooper and April Wine are nostalgia favourites who have received enthusiastic receptions at major concerts such as the Rainmaker Rodeo.
Opening for them is St. Albert rising stars Campus Thieves with Caleb Seinwandt (guitar), Ryan McGale (keys/vocals), Spencer Huddleston (bass), Codie Feter (guitar) and Mac Huddleston (drums).
Tickets range from $29 general seating to $49 floor seating plus service charges through Ticketmaster. All proceeds go in support of Alberta Diabetes Foundation.

Yes, this dynamic festival dubbed From Fringe With Love is back in action bringing with it a sense of excitement, adventure and maybe a dash of danger.
This year a total of 255 acts have been booked in 52 venues, primarily in the Old Strathcona area off Whyte Avenue.
Expect to see both low and highbrow comedies, tragedy, drama, horror, experimental, clowning, burlesque, acrobatics, musical theatre, mime, and improvised arts. None of the shows are juried or censored.

MacEwan University embraces anime invasion with Canada’s longest-running convention. And it’s happening today and tomorrow with programmed events ranging from costume contests, comedy improv and tournament-style gaming.
