Guess which local musician is now firmly entrenched in the 50 Club? Todd Redekopp is a St. Albert veteran who joined Mark Ammar’s Tuesday Night Open Stage, now rebranded as Tuesday Night Moosehead Barsnbands Open Stage.

Cultivating a laid-back guitar blues style and vocals, Redekopp, “started jamming with Rick Shott at a lot of the open jams. They clicked well together and are joining forces to put out some aggressive blues tunes,” says Ammar, the evening host along with Jim Dyck and Randy Forsberg.

“Todd started playing guitar when he was 20. He played in bands in St. Albert until 1985, and then put his instruments away until 2005. Todd started coming out to the open stage at LB’s a few years ago, which resulted in him playing at the Nanaimo Blues Festival in August 2009 and at the Vancouver Olympics in February 2010.”

Redekopp’s birthday blues bash is taking place at LB’s Pub on Tuesday starting at 9 p.m. No cover.

Jubiloso! Bells of Concordia and the Concordia Ringers spectacle is based on 15 sets of hands and 270 different instruments providing a frenzied, action-packed experience.

Once again the ringers, an audition based ensemble, perform with sets of handbells and hand chimes that play a repertoire from a variety of genres: African, musical theatre, classical, popular contemporary and bluegrass.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students/seniors. Call 780-420-1757 or purchase online at www.tixonthesquare.ca; also available at the door.
