The Real Gone Ensemble is hosting a workshop of its art piece Husk on Dec. 13 and 14 at Campus St. Jean.
“We’re trying to explore the fear in humanity and how humans can be scared and what pushes people to the breaking point,” said St. Albert actress Desiree Leverenz, one of the 15 ensemble members.
The performer created collaboration explores American pop culture inspired by the works of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and playwright Cormac McCarthy.
This image-based collage uses actors’ bodies to convey images, emotions and feelings, added Leverenz. This is the second workshop session and Real Gone hopes to have a full production on stage in 2015.
Campus St. Jean is located at 8406 - 91 St. Saturday and Sunday evening shows at 8 p.m. are $12 adults, $10 for seniors-students. A Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. is pay-what-you-can.
Edmund Stripe’s beautifully choreographed The Nutcracker returns to the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium ready to transport the entire family to 19th century Russia.
The two-act Nutcracker is the magical tale of Klara, a young girl whisked into the world of her dreams filled with a Snow Palace, a Sugar Plum Fairy, exotic Arabians and Spanish dancers.
This magical holiday favourite, set to Piotr Tchaikovsky’s frothy score, glitters with fanciful sets, lavish costumes and enchanting dancers.
For each performance, nearly 80 auditioned student dancers complement the company’s 34 professional dancers. Four young ballerinas from St. Albert showcase their talents in the famous first act battle between the King of Rats and the Nutcracker Prince.
Our St. Albert ambassadors are Jaclyn Manning and Riley Waples as rats, Alyssa Kryger as a page boy and Madeleine Younghusband as a soldier.
