Ahoy mates! If ye be a fan of lobster, set sail for St. Albert’s Crown & Tower Pub tonight and celebrate Alexander Keith’s birthday.

For $40 guests can indulge in 1.5 pounds of Atlantic lobster, a foamy pint of beer, birthday cake and prizes.

And the Accoustiholics return once more with their blend of Maritime music. A relaxed trio, Fintan Murphy, Vince Anderson and Richard Dmytryshyn, enjoy vocal experimentation while partaking in a refreshing beverage.

“We keep bringing them back by popular demand. The audience really likes them,” said pub owner Troy Marchak.

To reserve a seat call 780-419-6754. The pub is at 11 Bellerose Dr.

The Edmonton Recital Society presents its first concert of the season with a focus on violin both classical and jazz.

The first half features violinist Juno Award winner Mark Fewer performing solo baroque works and then he is joined by harpsichordist Jeremy Spurgeon for two Pandolfi sonatas.

In the second half, Fewer switches gears and plays with local go-to jazz musicians John Taylor (bass), Sandro Dominelli (drums) and Andrew Glover (piano).

The jazz portion includes charts from Ralph Towner, Phil Dwyer, Luis Bonfa, Jan Jarczyk and Brad Turner.

Held at the Yellowhead Brewery, it is set in a café-style hall. The concert will be held on Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 (adults and seniors) and $20 (students).

In celebrating its 36th season, Brian Webb Dance Company opens with Toronto Dance Theatre’s Eleven Accords.
