This year marks the 30th anniversary of Akimbo Alogo, Mitchell's first full-length solo recording post Max Webster. The record introduced Mitchell's big, bold guitar driven sounds in Go For Soda and All We Are.
Akimbo Alogo went platinum and launched Mitchell's solo career, one that remains vibrant and vital to many fans.
Kenny Shields and Streetheart also made Canadian rock history with their cover of the Rolling Stones Under My Thumb and never looked back.
Producing a solid catalogue of songs including Action, Hollywood, Teenage Rage and Tin Soldier they released a two-CD anthology of their songs in 2008 and continue to remain a much-in-demand band on the prairie circuit.
Although Prism also has not released an album since 2008, their pumped up pop rock brought them international fame when their song Spaceship Superstar was chosen as a wakeup call for the space shuttle Discovery.
Together these three bands would are performing at the benefit concert to raise financing for two research fellowships targeted at Type 1 diabetes.
