For the past couple of months, singers of every stripe have put their voices to the test at O’Maille’s Idol.
It’s time for a drum roll. The finals are taking place on Thursday night and they are free to the public.
Eight daring competitors will vie for a Budweiser electric guitar. Additional prizes include a backpack, a three-song demo and voice lessons.

Four St. Albert thespians and musicians are bringing together the Almighty and marriage.
Husband and wife duo Maureen Rooney and Paul Punyi have teamed up with Lori and Bruce Mohacsy to perform Thank God for Marriage, a funny, fast-paced theatre piece aimed at couples.
All told, the performers each have over 30 years experience in theatre and they’ve applied their marital expertise to creating a romantic evening for couples.
Rooney and Punyi Educational Theatre Productions received the original commission for 2011 World Marriage Day and received a standing ovation and a stream of proactive comments for weeks following.
Thank God for Marriage takes place on Friday, May 2 at St. Albert Parish Hall. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and show starts at 7:30 p.m. A one-hour interactive session follows at 8:15 p.m.
