Like a shiny penny that keeps showing up, Cirque du Soleil is back with another captivating show at Rexall Place.
From June 18 to June 21, the Montreal based company introduces Varekai, a tale of a young man who parachutes into a magical forest at the summit of a volcano and discovers a kaleidoscope of fantastical creatures.
He sets off a chain reaction of events and travels on an adventure both absurd and extraordinary. It is a place on the edge of time that can create all possibilities and is an inspiration to rediscovering life.
During the four-day stop, Cirque will perform seven shows. Tickets range from $40 to $105. They are available online at www.cirqueclub.com or at 1-855-985-5000. For complete information visit cirquedusoleil.com/varekai.

Rounding out the program is Rimsky Korsakov’s highly energetic Spanish dance Capriccio.
Guest soloists include soprano Jolaine Kerley, mezzo-soprano Mireille Rijavec, tenor Caleb Nelson and bass Michael Kurschat.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 adults, $17 seniors and students. Call 780-428-1414. For more information call 780-479-9304.
