The Arden Theatre will be transformed into an old-fashioned radio station overflowing with tap dancers, musicians and comedians.

In this house of colour and multi-talented artists, St. Albert can celebrate that passion, imagination and spirit of artists, individuals and businesses that have created a bona fide artistic community.

This year’s special guest is Ted Dykstra, a pianist who grew up in St. Albert, and went on to international fame and fortune in 2 Pianos 4 Hands with his creative partner Richard Greenblatt.

Dykstra last performed 2 Pianos 4 Hands at the Citadel Theatre last fall as part of his farewell tour. But Mayor Nolan Crouse didn’t let him get away that easily. Instead he presented Dykstra with the keys to the city.

Early bird tickets to the gala are $30 and are available until Friday, January 31. Ticket prices rise to $35 on Feb. 1. Tickets are available through the Arden box office at 780-459-1542 or online at www.ticketmaster.ca.

RWB’s Romeo and Juliet, one of the most romantic and tragic ballet dances of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, runs Jan. 21 and 22 at the Jubilee Auditorium.

It is a version by Rudi van Dantzig, one of the first non-Russian masters to set their choreography to Sergei Prokofiev’s incredible score.

Set to the background of 16th century Verona, the full-length production captures riveting sword fights, compelling drama and breath-taking classical choreography.

Tofield raised Amanda Green returns to Alberta as the leading lady, while her partner is Liang Xing.

Tickets range from $41.15 to $127.15. Visit www.ticketmaster.ca.

Once again Send in the Girls Burlesque is set to tantalize and tease with a revamp of last summer’s Fringe production, A Bronte Burlesque.

The sexy storytellers doff their clothes for a tale that is part striptease, part ghost story, part sibling showdown, and part literary rivalry.

On the last night of her life, famed novelist Charlotte Bronte receives a visit from the spirits of her deceased siblings – Bramwell, Emily and Anne.

The Brontes were renowned for their literary expertise, but there is more to the family than what has been churned on the page.

The burlesque show runs at Theatre Network as part of the Roxy Performance Series from Jan. 23 to Feb. 2. Tickets are available at 780-453-2440 or online at www.theatrenetwork.ca.
