That’s right. The V.I.P. Kids’ Show is back with a special holiday performance. It’s a 45-minute holiday show jam-packed with music, puppetry, crafts, comedy and stories all rolled into one.
Join Kate Ryan, Davina Stewart, Donovan Workun, Dana Anderson, Cathy Derkach, Jason Hardwick and friends for a relaxing day of fun and laughter.
“It really is an improv show. We like to keep it really loose and parents really appreciate that,” said Stewart.
The V.I.P. Show runs today at 11 a.m. at the Varscona Theatre, 10329 – 83 Ave. It is suitable for kids two to 12 years. All seats are $6. Cash only at the door.
Edmonton is a pivotal nurturer of classical musicians’ skills and has developed a reputation for sending excellent musicians onto the world stage.
Many local musicians would never have had those opportunities without scholarship funding from the Anne Burrows Music Foundation.
On Friday, December 27 several musicians, now in advanced studies across the country, return to perform at Opus 34 – Christmas Fundraising Concert, a fundraiser for the foundation.
Special guest performer is Andrew Wan, violinist and concertmaster of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal. Other musicians that received a career boost are violinist Edwald Chung, cellist Kathleen de Caen, classical guitarist Eric Meier and saxophonist Justin Massey.
The concert takes place at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 10037 – 84 Ave. Tickets are $25 and are available at the door or by calling Fran at 780-487-5567 or Melanie at 780-454-7180.
