The traditional Mardi Gras starts on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 28. On that same day, Cora Breakfast and Lunch celebrates their sixth annual National Pancake Day.
On this day, the Cora Foundation donates $1 to the Breakfast Club of Canada for every plate of pancakes and crepes that are sold.
All 130 franchises across Canada are on board supporting the national club that provides nourishing breakfast programs to 163,000 students from coast to coast.

The Edmonton based Canadian Food Championships are a go for July 21 to 23. Officials announced the seven categories and have opened the wildcard competitor application for 2017.
The returning categories are bacon, sandwich, burger, seafood, steak and dessert. The new category is chicken.
"With the high quality of Canadian chicken, we are excited to see what kind of culinary creations the cooks come up with," said Paul Lucas, General Manager of Events Edmonton.
The high-intensity, tournament-style cooking competition is open to any Canadian resident older than 18. The open competition is available to any skill level from home cooks to professional chefs.
Competitors battle for bragging rights and an opportunity to compete at the World Food Champions on Nov. 8 to 14 in Orange Beach, Alabama. The World Food Championships grand prize is $100,000.
