Visual Arts Studio Association

Feathers and Fur is a selection of Tammy Taylor’s Realist portraits of animals. Until Sat., Sept. 30. Taylor will offer a drawing and painting workshop on her techniques from 1 to 4 p.m. on closing day as part of Alberta Culture Days. Free of charge. No pre-registration is necessary. Musée Héritage Museum

The museum has a new exhibit called The Michel Band, which focuses on the family, the injustice and the perseverance of a local Aboriginal band that was the only First Nation in Canada in the 20th century to enfranchise but, in doing so, lost their Aboriginal and treaty rights. Opening reception from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 28. Members of the band will be in attendance. Until Jan. 7, 2018. The museum has a selection of artworks by First Nations and Métis artists Alex Janvier, Terry McCue, and Leah Dorion, all of whom are represented in the Art Gallery of St. Albert’s collection and its Rental and Sales Gallery.
