Cuts student Ava Bothe is just one of the many pieces to be exhibited in the Do You Carrot All? exhibit put on by the Alberta Teachers’ Association’s Edmonton and Area Fine Arts Council. Seven of the nine schools participating this year are from St. Albert. It runs at Edmonton City Hall from Feb. 23 to Feb. 26 with an opening reception tomorrow from 5 to 8 p.m.

Do You Carrot All? is a new exhibit put on by the Alberta Teachers' Association's Edmonton and Area Fine Arts Council. The show's theme was a challenge for artists to consider the carrot as a metaphor for the perceptions that people hold about who artists really are. There are nine schools participating this year, including St. Albert's Paul Kane, Bellerose, St. Albert Catholic, Leo Nickerson, Muriel Martin, E.S. Gish, and W.D. Cuts schools. The art pieces are all available for sale at $150 each and all of the proceeds will be donated to iHuman, an agency that works with at risk youth in the arts. The opening reception is tomorrow from 5 to 8 p.m. Artists will be in attendance. Until 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Little Kitchens is an exhibition of small artworks created by Canadian women artists. The tenth anniversary exhibit will be on display until October 2017.

The Edmonton Arts Council's award-winning urban art exhibition has returned to bring visual culture to the cityscape. It features 45 new artworks by 38 artists displayed on 10 billboards located throughout Edmonton. Artists include Allison Argy-Burgess and Karen Klassen. Until April 2017.

Karen Blanchet has a few upcoming shows at different venues. Alberta Branded will feature some of her work for the Common Ground showcase in March. That will be on the main floor of the Federal Building at 9820 107 St. She will also have a display of her work for the Blue Gallery at the Glenrose Rehab Hospital, 10230 111 Ave. in Edmonton. That will run from March 30 to May 1.

The Big Lake Artists' Studios will be having its annual open house with show and sale on Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The collective's 10 artists will be on site to display their artworks and do demos.
