Take Your Best Shot is the museum's annual youth photo exhibit, being shown now instead of in the late autumn to coincide with Canada Day. The show's theme is My Canada. Also features contributions from members of the St. Albert Photography Club. Until Sun., Sept. 10.

The museum will also have paintings by Douglas Fraser and photography by David Bowering on display in conjunction with ArtWalk. Until the end of June.

The youth gallery features the work of Bellerose High School student Noah Dewitt, this year's winner of the Elsa Zahar award. His winning artwork called What's Up?, a fun and funky portrait of a guitar player done with a black marker, will also be featured in the Art Gallery of St. Albert's 2018 catalogue and on the invitation to High Energy 23 to be held next spring. As the Crow Flies is Teresa Graham's new exhibit coming to the Alcove Gallery at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, 1415 14 Ave. NW in Calgary. Until Mon., July 24. The Works Art and Design Festival runs from June 22 to July 4. Taking place at Churchill Square and 40 locations throughout downtown Edmonton, the festival features dozens upon dozens of artists in 50 exhibits and 300 special events including live performances, tours, receptions and demonstrations. www.theworks.ab.ca

St. Albert's ArtWalk takes place on the first Thursday of each month from May to September. There are eight venues including WARES, St. Albert Public Library, Musée Héritage Museum, A Boutique Gallery Bar By Gracie Jane, Art Gallery of St. Albert (and its Rental and Sales Gallery), Bookstore On Perron, VASA Gallery, and The Collective. Bev Bunker has been invited to show her recent painting called Les Chocolats into the American art show Capturing Realism '17 in the Pauly Friedman Gallery in Dallas, Pennsylvania. Opening reception on Sat., July 8 and the show will run until the end of August.
