It’s been a long time in the making, but Marlee Scott’s new single Beautiful Maybe was just released to Canadian radio this past Monday.
Produced by David Klmusky, Beautiful Maybe is Scott’s first American single and is featured on her upcoming album due out in early 2012.
To promote the song’s entry into the Canadian market, the St. Albert-raised, Nashville-based country singer is on a whirlwind radio tour across Canada and will be stopping in Edmonton from Sept. 5 to 8 to tape interviews with radio stations and sing Beautiful Maybe.
Scott fans will be able to hear the latest news by tuning into to CFCW Stella Steven’s show from 1 to 6 p.m., CISN FM’s Mike McGuire’s Mike on Monday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Colin Grave’s 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. perspective on CFWE.
The country songstress concludes her tour with a stop at the Canadian Country Music Awards ceremonies starting Sept. 12 in Hamilton, Ont., at Copps Coliseum.

Tupelo Honey is looking to get a deep tan while on a five-day cruise to the Mayan Riviera.
To get there, the St. Albert rockers are online finalists in a Battle of the Bands where the top dog wins a berth to perform on a sailing ship along with Buckcherry, Queensryche, Hinder, Hellyeah, Sevendust and Sick Puppies.
But it’s an online vote and Tupelo Honey is asking fans to support them. “We applied online about eight months ago and totally forgot,” says Tupelo’s lead singer Dan Davidson. “It looks like there are some pretty serious bands. I’ve looked at their profiles and they’re all at our level.”
The 10 bands competing are all from major American centres with the exception of Tupelo Honey and two Toronto bands: Frankie Whyte & the Dead Idols; and Gravity.
“We’ve got a pretty good shot. It depends on what they want. A lot of bands sound cool, but we’ve got an edge with songwriting. If they like a heavy band, they might pick one of the others, but if they like a well-rounded band, we have a pretty good shot,” Davidson said.

From Friday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. to Sunday, Sept. 11, at 9 p.m. at the Varscona Theatre, more than 25 comedic improvisers morph into weekend campers heading off to Camp Tee Hee Hee on Lake Boobahootchee.
Prepare for weenie roasts, tractor pulls, birdwatchers, boy scouts and a few drag queens for added excitement.
