The deadline for the Third Annual Arts Awards held at the Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts Gala is tomorrow.
The awards, presented at the gala on Sept. 30, will honour a wide range of artistic disciplines, individuals and groups.
Although there had been a fair response, the deadline was extended till the end of the month. “We would like to give community members a bit more time to submit their nominations,” said Nancy Watt, co-chair of the St. Albert Cultivates the Arts Committee.
The six categories include emerging artist, youth artist, excellence in arts teaching, established artist, community arts group and lifetime achievement award.
All recipients receive an original piece of art by a St. Albert artist. With the exception of the Corporate Patrons category, the recipients receive an additional $1,000.
Nominations close at 5 p.m. They can be emailed to [email protected] or submitted to community services at St. Albert Place, 5 St. Anne Street, St. Albert, Alberta, T8N 3Z9.
