Folk-rock singer-songwriter Bob Jahrig and guitarist Marc Ladouceur once again pair up to showcase some of Jahrig’s tunes from his 2008 indie release Colour of the Moon.
The duo is appearing at LB’s Pub Thursday during the increasingly popular Songwriters’ Acoustic Showcase.
Jahrig was invited at the behest of the showcase co-host Kenny Skoreyko. “Bob is a very good songwriter. His performance style is almost identical to James Taylor. He’s got that same vibe, the way he plays the guitar,” explains Skoreyko.
Like Taylor, Jahrig has honed a storytelling quality. “To me it’s very important for a good song to have meaning, not just like Mustang Sally.”
Although Jahrig hasn’t said outright, Skoreyko believes the reason the duo is eager to appear at LB’s is to audience-test material for a new album. “He’s such a mild-mannered, quiet individual, such a gentleman.”
The songwriters’ showcase starts at 8:30 p.m. No cover charge.
