Four days of dance at Santana Festival

Dance festivals don’t always have the same traditions or formats. One of the biggest and most diverse that’s become an annual tradition in St. Albert is the Santana Dance Festival.

Dance festivals don’t always have the same traditions or formats. One of the biggest and most diverse that’s become an annual tradition in St. Albert is the Santana Dance Festival.

Sponsored by Shy Ann Dance Productions, this four-day event ran from April 7 to 10 held at the Arden Theatre. The event attracted movement aficionados from across rural Alberta’s dance studios.

The adjudicated festival is targeted to dancers from ages three to adult who perform in an impressive array of dance forms including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern contemporary and musical theatre.

With such an abundance of dance groups assembled in one theatre, the festival is a great opportunity for teachers and students to also foster a stimulating networking and artistic exchange.
