Doug Horner is a pretty good politician and he knows just as well as most folks that the province's effort to reduce global warming or climate change is a total useless effort. He knows the climate changes and has for billions of years.
Has the globe warmed a bit since the end of the Little Ice Age around 1820? Yes. Since there has not been any statistical increase in global temperatures for the last 17 years and 10 months, and in fact there has been a decrease in global temps in the last 10 years, what is Simon Dyer's problem? Does Simon Dyer know which climate we are supposed to have?
So a good politician declares that, yes, we need to measure what we do. He does not declare that the whole global warming thing is a requirement. And he probably will be proven right in the next five years when the Earth will change its climate for the worst. It probably will get colder because of the quiet sun.
After all, almost all energy humans tap into can be traced back to the various forms of energy storage that was at one time provided by the sun.
P.S. to reporter Kevin Ma: Perhaps you can find someone who knows what he is talking about instead of the paid lobbyists from the Pembina Institute?
