There’s a new artistic wind blowing through town. Three Edmonton companies – Workshop West Playwright’s Theatre, Azimuth Theatre and Fringe Theatre Adventures presents the 2016 Chinook Series.
Running until Feb. 7, it is two weeks of new and experimental live theatre that presents some of the most daring talent both regionally and from across the country.
The series, taking place at the ATB Financial Arts Barns, is marked with stage plays and lobby entertainment In addition, there is a salon series that covers varied tops from free form improvisation and erotic services to drama and dying as well as love and sex.
Also, internationally acclaimed Canadian playwright Daniel MacIvor presents a master class on practical playwriting on Monday, Feb. 1.

Originally produced at Theatre Passe Muraille in 2012, the multiple award-winning CRASH follows the life of a woman after the loss of a loved one.
In this tour-de-force solo from Pamela Mala Sinha, a woman deals with shattered memories of past trauma as everything unravels in blended projections, myth and dance.

Score on Memory/Pro patria ad exitium

This dance double bill features choreography and performances from Brian Webb and Joshua Wolchansky. In Score on Memory, Webb creates a dance conversation between past and present and those little points in between.
On the other hand, Wolchansky created Pro patria ad exitium as a salute to all the glorious dead – soldiers, heroes, children and lovers.
Love in the Margins
A CRIPSiE and mindhive collective production

Originally created in 2014, this dance celebration of love, disability and difference, turns traditional rituals and expectations upside down.
