Once again the Northern Alberta International Children's Festival is going gangbusters. Neither rain, snow or blistering heat can stop this well-oiled machine from delivering its wacky, wonderful delights.

And it's just as well. Organizers are expecting nearly 55,000 visitors – give or take a few thousand, depending on the weather – to tromp through the downtown St. Albert site until Saturday, May 31.

Visiting patrons will experience 100 different shows from 10 main stage acts representing five countries – England, France, Israel, United States and Canada.

And that's not to mention the fun, challenging site activities and colourful roving artists costumed as enchanted creatures.

There's a lot to see at the festival and it can be difficult to make a choice tailored specifically for your family. To help simplify the decision making, the Gazette will post online reviews starting Wednesday morning.
