This past weekend the 2016 St. Albert Lifestyle Expo & Sale presented the 2016 St. Albert Idol competitions.

Congratulations are in order for Mathew Baba, Kids Idol Ages 6-11; Charly Arnold, Junior Idol Ages 12-17, and Katie George, St Albert Idol 18 plus.

Runners-up are Stephanie Hayden, Taylor Hambly and Robin Ciseck-Sabiston.

Kudos to everyone who participated in the event and put their voices out there.

If you have a few minutes this coming Friday, drop by the Art Gallery of Alberta for an on-site canvas painting by Jani Galarneu with proceeds going to iHuman Society of Edmonton.

6 Minute Warning, an acoustic sextet that also includes St. Albert Children’s Theatre alumnus Luc Tellier, add another layer with a concert.

What’s cool about these guys is their diverse backgrounds – rock, pop, classical, choral and musical theatre – that melds into smooth sound with multi-part harmonies.

Workshop West Theatre unveils a new playwriting series This Is Yeg: New Plays for a Changing City from April 22 to 24 at L'UniThéâtre, 8627- 91 St.

Presenting works are Jason Chinn, Megan Dart, Minister Faust, Dr. Heidi Janz, Conni Massing, Nicolle Moeller, Cat Walsh and Kenneth T. Williams.

In an added feature, Fresh Ink hosts Liane Faulder’s The Long Walk Home and Spasoje Milovanovic’s Grey Forest Manor.

Just received word that Canadian country star Terri Clark is doing a two-nighter at Fort Saskatchewan’s Dow Centennial Centre during her 2016 Back to My Roots Solo Acoustic Tour.

The cross-country tour kicks off in Prince Edward Island on Sept. 14 and wraps up Nov. 12 in Vancouver. The Fort Saskatchewan stops are Oct. 28 and 29.

A two-time Juno Award winner and an eight-time CCMA Entertainer of the Year, Clark is known for major hits Poor Poor Pitiful Me, Girls Lie Too and I Just Wanna Be Mad.
