Library comedy show fundraiser
The Morinville Community Library hosts its third annual Comedy Night Fundraiser this coming Saturday to raise money for programs and services.
Hosted at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre, the licensed comedy show features opening act Lawrence Wolf, a standup comic featured on popular shows such as Just For Laughs Festival and Bite TV.
The evenings headliners are comedy duo Julien Faid and Kory Mathewson. Faid is a 15-year veteran of the improv scene and Mathewson, also an improviser, is co-creator of TEDxRFT.
“We are really looking forward to the show. It’s going to be so much fun,” said acting library board chair Amy Guenette. “It’s a win-win for everyone because if you buy a ticket, you get to enjoy a great evening in town, and you’ll also be helping out the library to raise some much needed funds.”
Tickets are $200 for a table and $20 for single admission. Tickets are available on the library Facebook page linked to Eventbrite.

St. Albert Idol is back
St. Albert Idol auditions are being held this week on Thursday, April 7 at O’Maille’s Irish Pub starting at 7 p.m. All ages are welcome to audition until 9 p.m.
The second set of auditions will be on Sunday, April 10 at Visionary College beginning at 6 p.m.
The three age categories are: Ages 6 to 11 Kids Idol, Ages 12 to 17 Junior Idol and Ages 18 plus for St. Albert Idol.
Participants are asked to register with Innovations Music in St. Albert or by calling 780-460-4430.
Vocalists that qualify will be invited to perform at the Lifestyle Expo semi-finals on April 15 and 16 at Servus Place. Finals will be held on Sunday, April 17.
There are more than $3,000 in prizes and a series of performance opportunities to be won.
