Multi-platinum selling Canadian pop-rockers Marianas Trench is rolling out the fireworks for their Never Say Die tour across Canada in the spring of 2016.

During their 18-stop tour from Kingston to Vancouver, the band will play a concert at Rexall Place on April 1 with special guest Walk Off the Earth.

The tour is in support of their fourth studio album titled Astoria released Oct. 23 on 604 Records/Interscope. It debuted as No. 2 on the Canadian Soundscan charts and jumped onto the American Top Current Albums Chart at No. 33.

Available online at iTunes, the 17-track is a concept record based on 1980s fantasy adventure films, especially The Goonies set in the doomed town of Astoria, Oregon.

Marianas Trench frontman Josh Ramsey is excited about the upcoming tour and says, “mousse up that hair, throw on your best ripped acid wash, and get ready to join the fight to make dancing legal again.

When this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you’re gonna see some serious shit. Can you survive Astoria? The only other thing capable of generating that much energy is a lightning bolt.”

Tickets for the tour went on sale Friday through livenation.com.

The Alberta Ballet School is on an international audition tour where dancers nine and older can audition for the school’s 2016 Professional Division Summer Intensive Program.

Dancers in Grade 11 and 12 can also audition for the company’s dedicated contemporary dance stream – the first of its kind in Canada.

At auditions, dancers participate in special classes that assess their suitability for professional dance training. Fewer than 200 students will be accepted to second stage auditions, a three-week summer program held at the ballet school in Calgary.

Edmonton auditions will take place on Nov. 29 at the Lecky School of Dance, 9764 – 182 St. Check the website at schoolofalbertaballet.com for various times.
