In preparation for K-Days, Northlands is hosting a Local Hero Contest. Northlands organizers encourage the broader community at large to nominate a “difference maker,” someone who goes above and beyond in their roles as professionals, volunteers or community role models.
From the names, six Honorary Parade Marshals will be selected to lead the K-Days parade on July 17. In addition, each winning marshal will receive $500 to donate to a charity or community or community group.
“The Local Hero Contest is dedicated to thanking those who selflessly impact the community and touch the lives of people every day. Whether it's a neighbour who goes the extra mile or a community leader who inspires those around them, this contest is your chance to recognize people for all the great things they do,” said Tim Reid, president and CEO, Northlands.
Deadline for nominations is June 26. To nominate visit k-days.com/outdoor-fun-food/parade/local-hero-contest.
