Cirque du Soleil once again works its mojo with Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities premiering July 20 and running to Aug. 13 at Northlands Coliseum.
Due to popular demand, this big-top extravaganza has opened up new performances on Friday, July 28, Thursday, Aug. 3, Friday, Aug. 4 and Thursday, Aug. 10.
Written and directed by Michel Laprise, Kurios follows the adventures of a mad scientist who attempts to uncover the wonders of the universe through his personal curio cabinet.
From this basic premise, a series of visually stunning theatrical and circus routines unfold in steam-punk aesthetic.

Entertainment One and Round Room have reinvented PJ Masks: Time to Be A Hero into a live immersive musical production touring North America starting in Sept. 2017.

If you’re looking to spend the Canada Day weekend enjoying a beer and laughing it up, check out comedian Matt Richards from Ghosts in the Hood.
As Richards tells it he was raised in the gritty streets of Queens and developed comedy as a way of defending himself from bullies and gangsters. He estimates it worked – 62 per cent of the time.
The other 38 per cent has been churned into comedy routines he plays out for audiences across the continent.

This coming Saturday, host Mark Ammar’s special guest is recording artist Barry Campbell. His debut CD Ballad of a Ne’er Do Well melds Campbell’s heavy guitar sound with his love of blues and reggae.
