Two-time Juno Award winner and seven-time Maple Blues Award winner Jack de Keyzer is flying to Edmonton to celebrate the Edmonton Blues Society 11th anniversary.
The British-born, Toronto-based musician has such strong ties to blues, he has travelled the world spreading the gospel.
Favouring the Chicago blues, de Keyzer is also influenced by a wide spectrum of music ranging from Detroit’s Motown, the Memphis sound, Philadelphia’s funky soul jazz and London, England’s blues-rock.
Completing his band are three local musicians: saxophonist Dave Babcock, drummer Bill Hobson and St. Albert keyboard player Bruce Mohacsy.
The event takes place Saturday, June 10 at the German Canadian Cultural Centre, 8310 Roper Road from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $25 advance, $30 at door. Tickets at Blackbyrd Music and Myhre’s Music.
