Last year Meghan Patrick, 30, released her debut album, Grace and Grit, under the Warner Music label.

Next week, the lovely Ontario based recording artist starts a seven-stop Western Canadian tour with Tom Cochrane and Red Rider at River Cree Resort on Saturday, March 18.

Prior to winging it as a solo artist, Patrick was lead singer for The Stone Sparrows, a popular roots act in 2013.

In just a few short years she has collaborated with producers Justin Niebank (LeAnn Rimes), Vince Gill, Carly McKillop and Chris Baseford (Nickelback).

Most of her story songs are drawn from real-life situations, both personal and autobiographical. For country fans that admire the real thing, her songs relay a good old-fashioned authenticity.

Tickets range from $50 to $85 and are available at ticketmaster.ca.

A dedicated environmentalist, Roschkov’s current album, The Caravan, touches on all things wild and free.

The jam starts at 4 p.m. No cover.

St. Albert High School’s fine arts department is mounting Disney’s High School Musical from March 7 to 9 at the Arden Theatre.

They first meet at a winter break party and are called on to sing karaoke. After the Christmas break, Gabriella moves from New Mexico and is placed in Troy’s homeroom.

When notices are posted for the school’s musical tryouts, both are eager to audition for lead roles. However, the malicious Sharpay, who has a crush on Troy, decides she should have the female lead at all costs.

Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. Call 780-459-7781 or online at sachs.gsacrd.ab.ca.
